I feel like my dentist is finding out new things in my teeth every time I visit , to find a new problem and a new thing I have to fix. How come they dont check for problems at an earlier age? Like around late middle school or junior high? Im upset and curious because Im 17 and my dentist barly told me I have an underbite and should get braces. why do they do that????!

My friend said she hasn’t gone to the dentist since she was three. She’s 19 now. So no sealants put it, never got her teeth cleaned professionally, never been checked for cavities, never gotten x rays, since she didn’t have her adult teeth then. I keep trying to convince her to go but she claims her parents don’t have dental insurance. How bad is it that she never goes? How necessary is it that she goes now?

I finally have a job that has somewhat decent dental insurance that don’t cost $500 a month and need LOTS of work done soon! But every dentist I call wants all of there money up front and I don’t seem to have $4000 laying around.

I live in the UK and i am 17. I know/ thought yout had to have your parents with you to go to the dentist until a certain age, But what age is it that you can go on your own without them being there?
